"Grotta
delle Palombe"

The access to this grotto is not easy, due to constant humidity,
musk and lichen. It is recommended the use of hooks and the maximum
of attention during the descent and afterwards during the re-climbing
of the vertical opening that leads to the grotto. The grotto is
spacious, even if not very easy to access due to several collapses
during millenniums.
"Grotta
delle Femmine"

This
grotto stands out for its narrow vertical opening and it is suggested
to be very careful while entering. The conformation of the grotto
is similar to a narrow underground canal of lava flow, about 50
mt. long.
"Grotta
dei Lamponi"

This is the biggest grotto of the Etna volcano and is composed of
different sized communicating rooms. About two entrances allows
to access the complex with reasonable safety.
"Grotta
del Gelo"

This
grotto is probably the most known volcanic cavity of the Etna,
locally and internationally. Inside the grotto, you can admire
the amazing phenomenon of the ice formation, that is accumulated
in the grotto since 300 years, and this event makes it so well
known. In the past this place was mostly visited by shepherds
who used it to bring there their flock to pasture. Since the seventies
on, the grotto was visited by thousands of excursionists that
saw in it a goal to reach at least once in their lives.
"Timparossa
- Montenero"

The excursion leads first to the refuge "Timparossa",
then you will continue on a marked path in "Monte Nero"
direction (easily visible). After crossing the "bottoniera"
craters of 1879, you will start climbing to reach the new crater
of 2002 eruption.
"Monti
Sartorius"

An excursion to the Sartorius mountains is extremely interesting
for both geological and botanical reasons. The route goes along
rich clearing of endemic species, volcanic bombs of considerable
size and wooded formations ruled by birch (betula aetnensis).
The geological interest is represented by the imposing lava flow
of 1865, that gave birth to Sartorious mountains, characterized
by the alignment of seven eruptive cones ("bottoniera").
"Bottoniera
2002"

After crossing the "Piano Provenzana" reaching 2700 mt.
height, then going down at 1900 mt. a.s.l., it is possible to admire
the wide fracture caused by 2002 eruption.
